Time for a little confession. I am horrible at land navigation.  However I always seem to pass land navigation. Now let me explain what I mean by the above. Although I know how to read the map, compass, keep pace count etc. When I am on the land navigation course I get lost in myself and the beauty which surrounds me. 

Yesterday was Pentecost Sunday. A forgotten holiday/celebration in many churches. For some it gets just a cursory glance. Some pastors are afraid to celebrate this with their congregations, due to the issues of tongues which are present in the text. Which introduce us to Pentecost.   While tongues, tongues of fire are present, there is so much more to the day of Pentecost.

Who is the head of your life? Who is the head of your house? How you answer these two questions, will impact not only your life. But also the life of those who are near and dear to your heart.

Are you walking with turkeys or soaring with eagles? Some of you reading this, think this is a strange way to start a post/thought of the week. Your right it is; but I bet I have wet your taste buds.  So the question remains, are you walking with turkeys or soaring with eagles? This is an important question to answer. It is the answer which will tell you your spiritual temperature. You know wither your hot, cold or lukewarm. So before we go any further are you walking with turkeys or soaring with eagles?

“God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9, NLT). After being snowed in last week, we continue our look at the Beatitudes. As you read the above Bible verse. I am almost certain a face of someone popped into your head. You know the person, who can walk into the middle of a conflict and bring a calming presence.

If you get nothing else out of this post, I want you to understand those who are pure in heart hold nothing back from God. This week we return to our series on the Beatitudes, with blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God.  Before we dive into this I want to share with you one of my favorite Bible passage. It is Genesis 2:25 “Now the man and his wife were both naked, but they felt no shame” (NLT). There is a lot of rich spiritual/theological meat, in these words.

“HE HAS RISEN, HE HAS RISEN IN DEED!!!!” If you have been to the store recently you know the Easter decorations have been taken down. If you live in Tomah you know the bunny at our Wal-Mart is no longer counting down the days. The Easter candy if it is still out has been marked down; if you have a sweet tooth go stock up. Easter 2018, is now in our rearview mirror.

We put the pause button on Beatitudes this week; as Sunday we began Holy Week. The church around the world is remembering the final weeks of Christ. Some congregations will put a greater emphasis on this week than others. For some they have been journeying to the cross since Ash Wednesday others started the journey this past Sunday. Palm Sunday.

“God blesses those who are merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” (Matthew 5:7. NLT). After this week we will be taking a pause from the Beatitudes, as Holy Week starts this coming Sunday; Palm Sunday.  For now let me start this week’s post with a story. I have never been a big man, but I also have never been one to walk away from a fight.  In my B.C. days, yep before Christ; before I committed my life to Him, I got into a number of fist fights.
